- Skiing -

Grand Junction is located close to great downhill and cross country skiing.

The closest downhill ski area is Powderhorn. Powderhorn is about 45 minutes from the Board & Buckle so you can pick up your rental gear, head off to the slopes, and be back to return your gear, all in one day. Skip straight to their snow report page if you need the latest data.

There are a number of places to cross country ski and snowshoe in the area. One of the best destinations is the Grand Mesa and the Grand Mesa Nordic Council has a wealth of information on their web site. Here is a direct link to their map page of Grand Mesa trails.
